Every party (or Friday night dinner😉) deserves a classy and elegant charcuterie board! One great thing about making a charcuterie board is that they can look as casual or extravagant as you’d like to make them. They’re great for almost any type of gathering! And it’s so easy to make one! Here are the steps:
Choose a variety of meats: salami, Portuguese salami, smoked ham, capicola, mortadella, dry-cured chorizo, sausage, prosciutto…
Choose a variety of cheeses: Hard cheeses, like Parmesan, Castelões and cheddar; Creamy cheeses like Brie, Camembert, goat…
Select breads and crackers, nuts and fruits. Several flavours of breads work well with charcuterie, French Baguette, Dark Pumpernickel, and Rye.
Jams and spreads. Fig and Plum jams are my favorite and go well with these types of meats and cheeses, also Pepper Jellies. Grainy mustard is nice on Charcuterie Boards. Honey is a wonderful addition and goes well with Brie.
Simply arrange the meats and cheese directly on the wood board(s), if it is food safe, (or you can lay some parchment paper underneath if it’s not) and then start filling the spaces with the accents. You can serve the spreads and dips in the containers they came in or transfer them into cute bowls.
