A marinade can be used for grilled, broiled or baked chicken thighs with perfect results every time.
Are you looking for new and savoury ways to prepare chicken thighs? A marinade may be “that way”! Chicken thighs are flavourful and more tender and juicy than chicken breasts. The marinade brings out the best in this cut of meat, and best of all it takes just minutes to put together. Chicken only needs between 15-20 minutes to marinate, but if you want to put the chicken in the marinade in the morning to cook at dinner time, you can. Just leave them in the refrigerator. So, here are some of our favourite marinades for chicken thighs:
Chipotle marinade – Using chipotle to marinate is common in many cuisines. It’s spicy and it leaves a wonderful flavour if you are a fan of spicy foods. Mix olive oil, chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, lime juice, garlic (minced), salt and pepper.
Fajitas marinade – chicken fajitas are an easy and flavourful weeknight meal. A classic Mexican recipe, juicy chicken is marinated, seared and cooked to perfection, then tossed with sautéed bell peppers and onions. For the marinade, mix beer, oil, onions, garlic, lemon juice, chili, salt, pepper, cumin, and Worcestershire sauce.
Greek marinade – The flavours of the Mediterranean diet will never disappoint, and this marinade will bring out very tasty chicken. Use olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, garlic, salt and pepper.
Honey Mustard marinade – Spice up boring chicken with this delicious and healthy honey mustard chicken marinade. You’ll need honey, Dijon mustard, olive oil, salt and pepper.
Hawaiian marinade – Smokey, succulent grilled chicken thighs marinated in a sweet Hawaiian sauce are packed with so much flavour! They’re sweet, and super delicious! Combine crushed pineapple (or pineapple juice), soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, ginger, lemon sauce, and sriracha!
